The Mystery of Our Oneness In Christ
There are 3 verses in the Bible which are difficult to comprehend (actually impossible to comprehend) without revelation from the Holy Spirit. As we graciously look at them I ask God to open our spiritual eyes to the roles which our Body, Soul & Spirit play in bringing about the incredible phenomenon of our oneness with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and our God. Let's take a moment to exam the 3 verses.
The first one that we look at is the promise of our oneness in the gospel of John 14:20 "At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you."
The second time that we see the specter of our oneness with our Lord is in the gospel of John 17:20-23. Here we see Jesus praying for the fulfillment of His promises regarding our oneness with Him and the Father. "I do not pray for these alone (the disciples), but also those who will believe in Me through their word (you and I and all who believe), that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that you sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one. I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one..."
The manifestation of the Promise of our Oneness with Christ. Colossians 1:27 "To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
We are ONE WITH OUR SAVIOR HALLELUJAH! Take time today and tomorrow or how ever long it takes to ask God what does that really mean for you and I. I have pondered the meaning of these verses off and on for over 20 years and it is just today that God has chosen to reveal to my limited understanding what that really entails. The limited amount of understanding that He has given me is enough to pull/draw me closer to Him. He has now allowed me to see part of the mechanism that He has created us with which allows us to experience our oneness with Him and His Son. That mechanism of experiencing true oneness with Christ is through The Holy Spirit, Our Spirit and Our Soul. Some of you have taken time to read my booklet "The Great Power and Purpose of Our Body, Soul & Spirit" In it I talk about the function of the Body, Soul & Spirit. It is essential that we know that function if we are going to begin to grasp our Oneness In Christ. Our next devotional will give a brief overview of that function. I pray that this study will help you as God speaks to you regarding your life and purpose.
God Bless Frank
